Alvarez Introduces Environmentally Conscious Masterworks Ukes in All Solid Bamboo

Posted on March 20, 2019

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Alvarez is proud to introduce their very first series of all-solid wood construction ukuleles. Masterworks Ukuleles will feature a choice of uke shapes and are also crafted with highly sustainable bamboo to maximize their positive impact on the environment.

“We were thrilled at the chance to use Bamboo as a tonewood,” says Chris Meikle, Head of Development at Alvarez and Senior Vice President of St. Louis Music. “As instrument makers and players we must look to better source alternative woods and materials that are kinder to the world’s ecosystem but do not compromise our quality or tonal attributes.  Bamboo as a tonewood accomplishes this beautifully.”

The MU55s will come in four different configurations with options for cutaway acoustic electric models, featuring the Alvarez AUE20 EQ and built in tuner.   In keeping with Masterworks Series, each model is constructed of all solid wood. Bamboo as a tonewood offers incredible sonic qualities and grows quickly in abundance, with no danger of depleting.

Meikle continues, “The MU55’s sustain and tone will put a smile on your face, knowing it’s a better choice for our planet, will hopefully sweeten the sound even more.“

Dealers are encouraged to visit the St. Louis Music booth at 2019 Winter NAMM to experience the Masterworks Ukes first hand.  For more information or to become a dealer call your St. Louis Music representative at 314-727-4512 or email [email protected]
