At Alvarez we approach the design and development of all of our instruments in the same way, no matter if the guitar is an all-solid Alvarez-Yairi or a more entry-level instrument from our Regent Series. Every single detail is considered, every chance we have to make our guitars play, sound or look better is taken. The compromises we have to make to produce less expensive instruments, are only made when we’re confident we’ve optimized the instrument in every single way we can for it’s price point, thus delivering true quality and value.

The RC16 is a great classical hybrid guitar and constructed using many of the same components and techniques used in building our higher end instruments. The nut of RC16HCE is 2mm wider than our dreadnought or folk guitars but 7mm narrower than a standard classical guitar, so it plays like an acoustic guitar neck but has nylon strings.

This acoustic-electric version has a 3-band EQ and cutaway and is equally at home on and off stage.

It has a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, classic tone woods that generate a warm and well-balanced tone. We have made the neck profile on Regent Series a little finer so they’re easier to play and every model is constructed using a dovetail neck joint that optimizes the transfer of energy between the neck and body.

This instrument has also been finished using an electrostatic painting process for a more even finish that uses less paint in its application. This allows the guitar to sing a little more and it also looks fantastic. It also has a PPS saddle and nut help to improve response and sustain.
